SANTO DOMINGO

Santo Domingo. The capital city of the Dominican Republic, which attracts all the business and cultural tourism due to being the oldest city in the Americas.

It is also one of the largest metropolises in the Caribbean, with over 3 million inhabitants.

BARAHONA

Barahona is located in the southwestern part of the island and is part of the Enriquillo region. Its economy is a combination of tourism, mining, and agriculture.

It is one of the most important cities on the island, with a bustling port and a wide range of ecotourism attractions. Barahona has an airport, an industrial port, and a free trade zone dedicated to textile production.

LA ROMANA

Internationally known thanks to Casa de Campo, the first tourist resort in the Caribbean and one of the first in the world, it spans 7,000 acres and has been considered globally as the best-planned luxury community in the Caribbean. It boasts 12.5 tennis courts (dubbed the "Wimbledon of the Caribbean"), 4 golf courses (named the "World's Leading Golf Resort" for 8 consecutive years), polo, shooting, a marina (the largest in the Caribbean), and extraordinary beaches. It also features the cultural village of Altos de Chavón, a hotel, and the finest restaurants in the Caribbean. The resort is gated and has its own security agency, firefighters, and public services.

Moreover, the project provides employment for over 10,000 people from La Romana, significantly contributing to the economic development of the city.

LA ALTAGRACIA

La Altagracia. It records the highest number of tourist accommodations with a total of 34,010 rooms, representing 50.9% of the country's housing supply.

In this province, the sustained growth of the Punta Cana-Bávaro destination stands out. The Bávaro-Macao-Punta Cana region, on the east coast of the country, has been primarily developed by the private sector.

The government sector has had minimal intervention, which showcases the investors' confidence in the tourism potential of the country.

SAMANÁ

Samaná. It has 2,216 rooms with dreamlike landscapes between Samaná, Las Terrenas, and Las Galeras.

It has the potential for growth due to the construction of an international airport.

MONTE CRISTI

Monte Cristi. Located in the northwest region of the island. The main activity is agriculture, with the production of bananas, plantains, and rice. The production of salt is also noteworthy. Livestock farming includes cattle, goats, and sheep.

In the tourism area, visitors can explore places such as Isla Cabra, Cayo Siete Hermanos, and El Morro de Monte Cristi. Activities include underwater diving, boat rides through the mangrove channels, commercial and sport fishing, visits to beaches, resorts, national parks, and historical monuments in the city.
